Destinations - South America - Brazil - Best Time to Go
Since Brazil is set in the tropics, it has a warm climate all year long. High season lasts from the week before Christmas until Carnival, which falls sometime in February or early March, depending on the year. If you thrive on the hustle and bustle of local life, head to Brazil during this time when local Brazilians are on their summer vacations. Other busy times of the year include Easter week and the months of July, when Brazilian schools and universities take their winter break, and August, when most Europeans and North Americans tend to visit.

It is always beach weather in San Paulo and to the north, and the ocean water is usually warm and inviting. In Rio de Janeiro and the south of the country, the mountain climate means dry, mild winters and ideal water temperatures for scuba divers. Periodic rain showers in Amazonas, which is situated in the Amazon Jungle, heighten the experience of visiting this tropical paradise where nature abounds.
