The peak holiday season in Greece begins in late June, when temperatures begin to reach their highest of the year, 80 to 95° F, and crowds of foreigners and locals flock to the Greek islands. This warm and usually sunny weather continues through September. Spring in Greece, while not as popular with sun worshipers, is a charming, albeit cooler season, when it’s possible to enjoy the country without the summer tourists. December through March is the coldest and least reliable time, though even then there are many crystal-clear days. In any season, keep in mind, the more northerly the city, the cooler and wetter the weather. But no matter when you choose to travel, you’re guaranteed to delight in all Greece has to offer.
